Beginners - Advanced
Level 1 MSDA / CMAS Diver*
Depth of 20 m max without mandatory decompression stops, supervised by a Level 4 MSDA / CMAS**** diver minimum.
Level 2 MSDA / CMAS Diver**
20 m maximum in autonomy (2 or 3 divers)
40 m maximum supervised by a Level 4 MSDA / CMAS **** diver minimum.
Level 3 MSDA / CMAS Diver***
60 m maximum without autonomy.
No supervisory prerogative.
Optional upon request
Level 4 MSDA / CMAS Diver****
60 m maximum without autonomy.
Can supervise 4 Level 1 and 2 divers.

Depths of up to 2 m for participants aged 8 and above, and up to 5 meters for 10+ years. Includes 2 open water dives.

World Confederation of Underwater Activities
Founded in 1959, the federation has since grown to cover more than 100 countries and 3 million active divers
It was created by fifteen federations including the French Federation of Underwater Studies and Sports, around its founder Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
The Exploration Sous-Marine Diving Centre has proudly offered CMAS courses since the Mauritius Scuba Diving Association (MSDA) became a member of CMAS at its inception. Notably, Pascal Ava, the director of Exploration Sous-Marine, currently serves as the president of MSDA. His predecessor, Pierre Szalay, was a founding member of the association and the first president of its technical committee.

Open Water Diver
Depth of 12 m max for 10+ years. Instructors supervise up to 11 years, and divemasters for 12+ years.

Depth of 18 m max. 18+ years in autonomy; 12+ years dive under divemaster supervision.

Depth of 21 m max for 12+ years, accompanied by a certified adult.

Depth of 30 m max for autonomous divers aged 18+. 40 m max with the "Deep Diving" specialty.

Depth of 30 m max for 15+ years, with autonomy at 18 years. 40 m max with "Deep Diving" specialty.

Depth of 30 m max for 18+ years. 40 m with "Deep Diving" specialty.

The diving centre also issues certifications for enriched air diving. We use an internationally approved mixture with 32% oxygen in our Nitrox tanks. Contact us for more details!
